The Honorary consul’s main responsibility is to provide assistance to fellow countrymen and women in distress and to help the Embassy with practical issues when it provides consular services to Belgian citizens in Lagos. However, the Honorary consul in Lagos is not authorized to issue visas and (provisional) passports or to legalize any documents.
